The Kateri Education Project
Over the course of the past year the leadership of our deanery parishes and schools have been involved in strategic discussions regarding the future of Catholic education in our deanery. This process has been formalized and specific research and study has been taking place led by our pastors, principals, and the administration of Cardinal Stritch High School. We have named this strategic planning for the future of Catholic education in our deanery the Kateri Education Project.
The purpose of this project is to provide the very best Catholic education opportunities for pre-K through twelfth grade in our deanery. This is not a plan for consolidation of our schools. As we have experienced in our deanery first-hand, consolidation does not work. Furthermore, we recognize the traditional funding models of Catholic education do not work, and stewardship must be at the heart and the cornerstone of our model for Catholic education.
This project is not a reaction to current circumstances but is a proactive strategic initiative to provide the VERY BEST in Catholic educational resources and services for our children. We are sharing this information with you because we are aware of present circumstances in our schools that are leaving many with questions. We felt this was an appropriate time to communicate that there is significant work being done to address the issues facing Catholic education in our deanery and the Kateri Education Project is not just “talk.” We will have a concrete plan with timeline developed in the coming months and will move aggressively to implement that plan in the coming year.
We will continue to provide updates via the parish bulletins, parish announcements, and this web site. We will post updates on the progress of the Kateri Education Project as they become available. This is truly and exciting and challenging time in our deanery and our future is bright. We ask for your continued prayers as we address in responsible fashion, the future of our Catholic schools.
