Cardinal Stritch High School
“Live It” check list for parents and students.
School Starts on Sunday! A “Live It” check list for the Stritch Family:
If you are a member of a parish, church or other religious family, we value your being a part of the Stritch family and of your commitment to school beginning on Sunday. We consider it essential that families acknowledge the fact that all belongs to God, live with an attitude of gratitude, and give generously. The short way of saying this is to say we are “stewards”.
Families in partner parishes:
If you belong to: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Saint Stephen, Saint Jerome, or Saint John the Baptist please do the following if you wish to have any financial aid for the upcoming year.
- Be a regular participant in Sunday and Holy Day Masses. This includes your child enrolled at Cardinal Stritch High School. By “regular” it means weekly, excluding illness or prohibitive weather.
- Both you and your child are to be involved in a ministry of the parish. These vary from parish to parish so be sure you work that out with a member of the staff.
- Call your parish and set up a meeting to establish a covenant with the pastor or pastoral leader. This needs to be completed before March 14, 2008.
- The covenant will include three areas of stewardship:
- Worship (weekly)
- Service (donation of time and talent)
- Generosity (a weekly planned, proportionate financial gift)
- The parish will keep those covenants and notify us before a tuition agreement is made.
- Remain active in the parish through worship, ministry, and generosity.
Families in parishes and churches that aren’t partners in the “Live It” initiative:
If you are a member of the parishes not listed above and seek financial aid please follow the following steps:
- Apply for financial aid via the FACTS program.
- Wait for an award letter from Cardinal Stritch High School. It will not be more than $1,500.
- If you need additional aid, apply for the Fr. Stites Grant. These applications are available in the Main Office.
- Appointments with Fr. Reinhart and Karen Weber can be arranged at the office.
- During those appointments two things will be discussed:
- 1. Any special circumstances we should be aware of in considering additional aid.
- 2. Your commitment to living as a steward. You will be asked to review and sign a covenant with the school stating your commitment.
- The covenant will include three areas of stewardship:
- Worship (weekly)
- Service (donation of time and talent)
- Generosity (a weekly planned, proportionate financial gift)
- We will be checking with your parish or church to insure that you are keeping your covenant. Failure to do so will include one call to check on any exceptional circumstances. A second failure to keep your covenant may result in the cancellation of any additional aid awarded for the current year and the full amount of tuition will be due.
- This covenant does not need to be re-established every year but the amount of additional aid you may receive will vary depending on our scholarship fund for a given year.
Thank you for your attentiveness to this important step. It is important that we remain focused on God who entrusted this school and these children to us. If you have any questions the staff of Cardinal Stritch High School will certainly be of assistance.
